Job Requirements

  • Successful graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program of at least two years
  • Passed a licensure examination to practice as a physical therapist assistant
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the state
  • Ability to maintain patient and employee confidentiality
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physical therapy principles and safety measures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated emotional stability
  • Prior physical therapy experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare and third party reimbursement preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a physical therapy assistant in the state
  • Prior physical therapy experience preferred
  • Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association preferred
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Proficient administrative and public relations skills
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, methods, materials and equipment
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with patients and staff
  • Emotional stability to handle patient and employee demands
  • Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist in developing and implementing physical therapy treatment plans
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist
  • Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on therapy procedures and home exercises
  • Ensure patient safety by recognizing hazards and applying appropriate precautionary measures
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other personnel to optimize patient care
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations
