Job Requirements

  • Successful graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program
  • Required licensure or eligibility to practice as a physical therapist assistant in Florida
  • Prior experience in physical therapy preferred
  • Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association preferred
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Proficient in administrative and public relations skills
  • Knowledge of physical therapy methods and safety measures
  • Ability to work cooperatively with patients and staff
  • Must maintain patient and employee confidentiality

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist assistant in the state of Florida
  • Prior experience in physical therapy preferred
  • Membership in state and national American Physical Therapy Association preferred
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Proficient administrative and public relations skills
  • Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles, methods, materials, and equipment
  • Knowledge of Medicare and third party reimbursement preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and staff
  • Emotional stability to manage patient and employee demands
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans
  • Evaluate and record patient progress
  • Educate patients and families about therapy and recovery
  • Maintain patient and treatment documentation
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other personnel
  • Adhere to safety and infection control standards
  • Uphold patient confidentiality
