Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
  • phlebotomy certification preferred and required in certain states
  • three years phlebotomy experience including pediatric and geriatric collections
  • minimum two years experience in a patient service center preferred
  • customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred
  • keyboard and data entry experience

Job Duties

  • draw quality blood samples from patients
  • prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures
  • create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures
  • perform forensic and clinical specimen collections with confidence and accuracy
  • verify patient demographic information and specimen labeling
  • maintain required records and documentation
  • demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image
