Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Specific certification or licensing based on state requirements
- Minimum three months experience in medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Documentation of training prior to independent duties
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocols
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to make accurate documentation
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- English language proficiency in speaking, reading, writing
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated consistency and reliability
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

- Any specific certification or licensing based on state requirements
- Minimum three months experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Documentation of training appropriate for duties prior to independent performance
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Ability to make accurate and complete documentation
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing legibly and accurately in English
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Consistency and reliability including good attendance, punctuality, and applying full effort throughout shift
- Flexibility with assigned schedule
- Ability to work daytime, evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis
- Ability to perform venipunctures
- Effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations including FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP to maintain highest production standards and ensure facility compliance
- Maintains high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values and culture
- Maintains cleanliness of work area to ensure a clean and professional environment
- Reviews and confirms donor identification and maintains donor confidentiality per Standard Operating Procedures
- Sets up and prepares all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedure
- Labels and ensures each unit and sample are labeled accurately
- Executes venipunctures and plasma collection, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety
- Operates automated plasmapheresis machines, including response and evaluation of all machine alarms and alerts, donor adverse events, and documents exceptions
- Monitors donor conditions to ensure donor comfort, safety, and quality of plasma product
- Maintains proper ratios to ensure donor safety and quality of product
- Disconnects donors and handles disposal of biohazardous waste and contaminated equipment, including cleaning spills and following safety protocols
- Performs routine calibration and maintenance of automated plasmapheresis machines and removes or replaces equipment from service when needed
- Reports all unsafe conditions to management
- Maintains and stocks adequate inventory and replenishes supplies on plasma carts
- Drives training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance
- Troubleshoots machine alarms and performs routine quality controls on equipment
- Performs other job-related tasks as assigned
