Job Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED
  • One year of customer service experience including cash handling
  • Requires immunizations or proof of immunity to certain infectious diseases and a TB test
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Ability to perform detailed and precise work
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours
  • Ability to stand frequently and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and corporate guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduation or GED
  • One year of customer service experience including cash handling
  • Basic knowledge of cash handling and balancing procedures
  • Basic understanding of business English, spelling, punctuation, and math
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance principles
  • Ability to use modern office machines
  • Basic keyboarding speed of 35 words per minute
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups

Job Duties

  • Calculate charges for patient visits and prescriptions
  • Receive payments by cash, checks, and credit cards
  • Collect outstanding amounts owed by patients
  • Balance end-of-day visit report and cash drawer
  • Issue receipts and maintain copies for balancing
  • Work collaboratively with medical office, pharmacy, and clinic staff
  • Participate in quality assurance efforts
