Job Requirements
- Requires high school graduation or GED
- requires one year of customer service experience with cash handling
- must provide immunizations or proof of immunity to certain infectious diseases and TB test
- willingness to volunteer vaccination status for required vaccines upon hire
- ability to stand frequently and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
- ability to work some evening and weekend hours
- this is not a remote work position
Job Qualifications
- High school graduation or GED
- one year of customer service experience including cash handling
- basic knowledge of cash handling and balancing procedures
- knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and math
- working knowledge of HIPAA compliance
- working knowledge of PHC Corporate Compliance Guidelines
- skill in using modern office machines and data entry equipment
- keyboarding speed of at least 35 WPM
- ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- effective oral and written communication skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups
Job Duties
- Calculates charges for patient visits and prescriptions
- receives payment by cash, checks and credit cards
- collects outstanding amounts owed by patients
- balances end-of-day visit report and cash drawer
- issues receipts and maintains copies for balancing
- works as a member of a team with medical office, pharmacy, and clinic staff
- participates in quality assurance efforts
- may explain and review work procedures with work-study students, volunteers or employees
- may assist with medical records or secretarial support services
- performs related work as required or directed
