Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Pharmacy Technician I requires no experience
- Pharmacy Technician II requires three years of related experience
- Pharmacy Technician III requires five years of related experience
- Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must obtain Pharmacy Technician Permit within 60 days of employment
- Must have working knowledge of computers
- Must not be under sanction by OIG or GSA
- Ability to stand, walk, talk and hear regularly
- Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds frequently and over 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to meet physical demands of the role
- Ability to work in environments with mechanical parts, fumes, and chemical exposure
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Pharmacy Technician I requires no additional experience
- Pharmacy Technician II requires at least three years of experience
- Pharmacy Technician III requires at least five years of experience
- Knowledge of database software
- Knowledge of inventory software
- Ability to use order processing systems
- Proficiency with spreadsheet software
- Proficiency with word processing software
- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to obtain a Pharmacy Technician Permit within 60 days of employment
- Knowledge of computer systems relevant to pharmacy operations
- Must not be under sanction by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or General Services Administration (GSA)
Job Duties
- Assist pharmacist in preparing prescriptions and medication orders
- Process, prepare, scan, fill and label medication
- Make many nontechnical judgmental decisions
- Pre-pack medications for dispensing and maintain daily logs
- Service and stock robotics and automated dispensing cabinets
- Reconstitute and compound oral medication
- Dispense medication to patients
- Mail medication
- Electronically request refills from providers
- Return medications to stock
- Call patients
- Maintain clean and orderly workstations, equipment, and medication preparation areas
- Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service in person, while answering the phone and in the drive-thru
- Review electronic health records as appropriate for patient care
- Serve as an interdepartmental liaison and pharmacy and patient advocate
- Complete inpatient training (Tahlequah campus only)
- Complete sterile compounding education following USP cleanroom guidelines (Tahlequah campus only)
- Perform biannual fingertip and media fill testing (Tahlequah campus only)
- Perform terminal cleanroom cleaning (Tahlequah campus only)
- Properly garb and aseptically stock sterile compounding cleanroom (Tahlequah campus only)
- Abide by sterile compounding policies and procedures (Tahlequah campus only)
