Job Duties
- assist pharmacists with labeling, filling, and verifying prescriptions
- provide customer service by assisting patients with drop-off and pick-up of medications
- enter and verify prescription orders in the pharmacy computer system for pharmacist review
- perform cashier duties, including processing cash, credit, and insurance payments, issuing refunds, and balancing daily transactions
- work with insurance carriers to secure payments and resolve billing issues
- manage inventory by ordering, receiving, storing, and tracking medications and supplies
- handle expired or discontinued products with proper documentation
- maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and pharmacy regulations while safeguarding sensitive information
