Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- pharmacy technician license required upon hire (State of Michigan) or pharmacist intern license required upon hire (State of Michigan)
- experience with sterile compounding preferred
- ability to work part-time, 20 hours per week
- willingness to work rotating shifts including every other weekend
- ability to comply with vaccine requirements including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza
- ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
- eligibility to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience preferred
- graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program preferred
- pharmacy technician license required upon hire (State of Michigan)
- pharmacist intern license accepted (State of Michigan)
Job Duties
- Fills medication orders including oral, injectable, and topical medications and intravenous admixtures
- assists in bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products
- prepares and distributes floor stock items in response to requisition forms
- inventories and restocks shelves checking for outdated drugs
- enters charges and credits for all medications and IV admixtures dispensed
- documents all medications and IV solutions returned to the Pharmacy
- distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and other hospital departments
- performs record keeping functions
- answers telephone and assists at Pharmacy window
- may rotate within hospital and outpatient pharmacy service areas
- maintains work area in a safe, orderly manner following clean room guidelines
