Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of certified pharmacy technician training program or one year of pharmacy school or two years of pharmacy experience
- national certification with PCTB in good standing
- license by Texas Board of Pharmacy
- accreditation by ACIPE
- valid Texas driver’s license
- knowledge of local, state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- ability to follow HIPAA regulations
- effective communication skills
- ability to make independent decisions within guidelines
Job Qualifications

- must be nationally certified with PCTB and in good standing
- licensed by Texas Board of Pharmacy
- accredited by ACIPE
- valid Texas driver’s license
Job Duties
- assist pharmacist under direct supervision in pharmacy practice according to regulations
- type, fill and dispense prescriptions
- answer phone calls and respond to questions or requests
- screen telephone calls for pharmacist
- maintain and file prescription hard copies and daily reports
- place and receive drug orders, input into inventory
- input invoices into computer system
- perform monthly inventory of expired drugs
- maintain pharmacy technician certifications and CE hours
- update and maintain patient records
- update computer software
- oversee inventory control
- request refills from physicians
- fill prescriptions according to indigent health care guidelines
- maintain proper storage and security for drugs
- clean and maintain equipment and work areas
- perform other job-related duties as directed
