Job Requirements

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a pharmacy technician such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Must obtain national pharmacy technician certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry
  • Ability to operate cash registers and use pharmacy hardware effectively
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
  • Must adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethics

Job Qualifications

  • Experience operating cash registers and pharmacy software preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and prescription processes

Job Duties

  • Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise
  • Handle claims and returns, complete required paperwork and logs
  • Assist in prescription fulfillment by processing third-party insurance claims and rejections
  • Provide patient/member service by identifying needs, initiating prescription orders, and resolving member issues
  • Enter prescription data accurately into pharmacy software, translating prescription information
  • Fill prescriptions by measuring, counting, mixing medications, and labeling containers
  • Verify patient information during prescription pickup and handle HIPAA compliance
  • Collaborate with team members and managers to prioritize assignments and improve pharmacy operations
  • Comply with company policies, ethics, and safety standards
