Job Requirements
- Meets all state requirements to work as a pharmacy technician such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy
- Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within 9 months of job entry
- Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to pharmacy duties
- Must comply with Walmart's drug-free workplace policy
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Basic computer literacy
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold
- Maintain merchandise presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out-of-date goods, setting up cleaning and organizing product displays, signing and pricing merchandise, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise
- Maintain the pharmacy area in accordance with company policies by handling claims and returns, utilizing equipment for merchandising functions, identifying shrink and damages, ensuring a safe work environment, and completing required paperwork and documentation
- Monitor and resolve problems in the prescription fulfillment process by processing insurance claims, rescanning images, alerting patients to inventory issues, and identifying pharmacist intervention needs
- Promote and maintain the pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting pharmacists in prescription fulfillment, processing insurance claims and rejections, assisting patients with orders, and completing required documentation
- Provide patient service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, initiating prescription processes, creating orders, promoting products, resolving issues, and maintaining a safe shopping environment
- Enter prescription data into pharmacy software by reading prescriptions, translating information, transcribing data, and managing patient records
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders, counting and measuring medication, mixing as needed, selecting and labeling containers, and operating dispensing equipment
- Assist members during prescription pickup by verifying information, logging sales, retrieving bags, gathering required signatures, and securing transactions
- Complete work assignments by collaborating with team members, managing priorities, communicating progress, and adapting to change
- Comply with company policies and ethics standards by implementing action plans, embracing a culture of respect and integrity, supporting company goals, and acting with humility and transparency
