Job Duties
- processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold
- maintains merchandise presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise removing damaged or out-of-date goods setting up cleaning and organizing product displays signing and pricing merchandise securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise
- maintains the pharmacy area by handling claims and returns utilizing equipment for merchandising functions pricing merchandise creating signs verifying merchandise on hands arranging and organizing merchandise identifying shrink and damages ensuring a safe work environment completing required paperwork and documentation
- monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process by processing third party insurance claims rescanning illegible images alerting patients to inventory status and physician authorization needs identifying situations requiring pharmacist action
- promotes and maintains the pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting with prescription fulfillment processing insurance claims assisting patients with orders and purchases maintaining and securing required documentation
- provides patient-member service by acknowledging members identifying needs initiating prescription orders promoting products resolving issues assisting with purchase decisions locating merchandise maintaining safe environment
- enters prescription data into pharmacy software by reading and transcribing prescription information creating or modifying patient records
- fills prescriptions by retrieving orders counting measuring medications mixing or reconstituting as needed selecting labeling operating scanning or automated dispensing equipment ensuring accuracy
- assists during prescription pickup by verifying patient information entering data into system marking prescriptions for pickup retrieving bags scanning security tags gathering electronic signatures logging sales of restricted items
