Job Requirements

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a pharmacy technician such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within 9 months of job entry
  • Ability to operate cash registers and payment processing systems
  • Ability to manage merchandise stocking and inventory
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to comply with company policies and maintain integrity
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and technology
  • Must pass background checks and drug tests in accordance with company policy

Job Qualifications

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a pharmacy technician
  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within nine months of job entry
  • Experience in retail or pharmacy environment preferred
  • Ability to operate pharmacy software and automated dispensing systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially
  • Basic math and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Process member purchases by operating cash registers and using appropriate procedures
  • Maintain pharmacy merchandise presentation by stocking, rotating, and organizing products
  • Handle claims and returns and perform merchandising tasks such as pricing and signing merchandise
  • Monitor the prescription fulfillment process and resolve issues including insurance claims and authorization requirements
  • Assist the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process including processing insurance claims and assisting members
  • Provide patient member service by helping with prescription orders, purchases, and resolving concerns
  • Enter prescription data accurately into pharmacy software and create or modify patient records
  • Fill prescriptions by measuring, counting, and labeling medications ensuring accuracy
  • Verify patient information during prescription pickup and handle necessary documentation
  • Complete work assignments by collaborating with team members, prioritizing tasks, and communicating progress
  • Comply with company policies and uphold ethics, integrity, and Walmart values
