Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • current certification as a Pharmacy Technician through PTCB or state requirements
  • ability to use pharmacy systems accurately
  • experience with cashier register operations
  • knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
  • ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • basic math and communication skills
  • ability to assist pharmacists under supervision
  • willingness to participate in ongoing training and certification renewals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • current PTCB certification or state required certification
  • experience in customer service or retail pharmacy preferred
  • proficiency with pharmacy systems and store equipment
  • knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to perform clerical and inventory management tasks
  • commitment to continuous education and training
  • ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Job Duties

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience
  • registers sales on assigned cash register, provides customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service
  • assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
  • engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance, resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure positive experience
  • models and shares customer service best practices with team members
  • provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service
  • recommends items for sale and trade-up or companion items
  • registers customer purchases, processes returns, voids, refunds, and exchanges as needed
  • assists in locating products
  • maintains counters and shelves clean and merchandised
  • takes inventory and maintains records
  • performs pharmacy duties including filling prescriptions and scheduling work flow
  • reports prescription errors immediately
  • adheres to policies regarding pharmacy errors and Good Faith Dispensing
  • handles telephone calls that don’t require pharmacist attention
  • processes manual claims timely
  • supports pharmacy inventory management including ordering and checking pharmaceuticals
  • ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products
  • constructs and maintains promotional displays
  • assists with food item separation and stock rotation
  • operates store systems and equipment
  • provides photo area customer service and web pick-up responsibilities
  • assists with store maintenance
  • complies with company policies and completes special assignments as directed
