Job Requirements

  • Requires high school graduation or equivalent
  • Requires one year of customer service experience with cash handling
  • Requires immunizations or proof of immunity to certain infectious diseases and TB test
  • Ability to work evening, weekend, and on-call shifts
  • Ability to perform frequent standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs
  • Must complete full online application with cover letter and resume
  • Commitment to confidentiality and handling detailed work accurately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of customer service experience including cash handling
  • Basic knowledge of cash handling and balancing procedures
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse individuals
  • Proficiency in basic keyboarding skills (minimum 35 WPM)

Job Duties

  • Calculates charges for patient visits and prescriptions
  • Receives payment by cash, checks, and credit cards
  • Collects outstanding amounts owed by patients
  • Balances end-of-day visit reports and cash drawer
  • Issues receipts and maintains copies for balancing
  • Works as a member of a team with medical office, pharmacy, and clinic staff
  • Participates in quality assurance efforts
  • May assist with medical records or secretarial support services
