Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Five years of experience in tournament management and/or operation of a championship or similar events
  • Completion of USGA Rules of Golf Workshop with advanced exam score
  • Three years of team management experience
  • PGA member preferred
  • Knowledge of golf industry, junior golf, and player development programs
  • Skills in conflict resolution
  • Familiarity with event management and working with volunteers, host site staff, sponsors, community leaders, and government agencies
  • Ability to devise and disseminate financial data
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Professionalism in developing on-site press releases
  • Working knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs
  • Proven proficiency in Workday HCM preferred
  • Basic fluency in artificial intelligence tools and concepts

Job Duties

  • Serve as the tournament director for PGA Jr. League 13u and 17u Championships
  • Oversee all aspects of inside-the-ropes tournament operations including rules, course setup, practice rounds, tee times, scoring, and event management
  • Oversee all outside-the-ropes tournament operations including player experiences, registration, hospitality, lodging, gifting, and awards
  • Collaborate with broadcast partners
  • Manage program sponsors and partners including the host venue, host city, and corporate sponsors
  • Work closely with internal teams such as partnerships, marketing, production, and public relations
  • Secure host facilities and prepare for PGA Jr. League Regional Competitions
  • Assign and train staff for events
  • Handle signage, rules, scoring, food and beverage, hotel lodging, and customer support for regional competitions
  • Organize and execute PGA Jr. League Section Championships, All-Star Play Days, and Regional Leaderboard
  • Collaborate with Section Staff on qualifiers and championships
  • Promote and support PGA coaches implementing All-Star Play Days
  • Oversee technical and competitive aspects of the Regional Leaderboard
  • Provide resources, training, and communication to ensure understanding of the All-Star Season
  • Lead the annual review and update of PGA Jr. League Conditions of Play
  • Create rules addenda as needed
  • Organize and lead the PGA Jr. League Rules Committee
  • Train PGA staff and coaches on Conditions of Play and rules application
  • Support National PGA Jr. League Committee staff liaison
  • Support other department events such as NHSGA Boys and Girls Invitational, NCCGA Championships, PGA Show, and team meetings
  • Contribute to strategic planning for player engagement
  • Lead and participate in strategic planning, project teams, and general department activities
