Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age (except where prohibited)
- ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear
- frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift more than 100 pounds
- exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet environments, pet hair, and live animals
- compliance with PetSmart policies and procedures
- willingness to work flexible hours including holidays
Job Qualifications
- Three or more years of retail leadership or customer-focused experience
- full-time availability including flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- proficiency in computer applications
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- ability to maintain composure under pressure
- strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and coaching associates
- facilitates associate development including reviews, recognition, training, onboarding, mentoring, succession planning, and coaching
- collaborates with store leadership on scheduling and profit and loss management
- addresses associate complaints and grievances
- prioritizes, delegates, and validates daily associate tasks
- communicates company information and priorities
- leads associates as Leader on Duty
- recognizes and celebrates associate engagement
- ensures reservations comply with policies and procedures
- manages pet check-in process and documentation
- oversees medication administration and pet health incident response
- coordinates in-store events and marketing
- maintains pet healthcare and facility cleanliness
- monitors guest welfare and communicates concerns
- manages pet parent experience and resolves concerns
- participates in store opening and closing procedures
- promotes merchandise and service sales
- enforces compliance with policies and code of ethics
- ensures a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents
- supports safety incident follow-up and reporting
- oversees maintenance of PetsHotel equipment
- reviews pet parent service surveys and acts on feedback
