Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years retail or customer service leadership experience
- Ability to work full-time with flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Competency in computer use
- Excellent communication skills
- Capability to handle stressful situations calmly
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to supervise a team of 10 to 30 associates
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and more with help
- Willingness to work in an environment with exposure to animal hair and noise
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Legal right to work in the location
- Adherence to PetSmart policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail leadership or customer-focused experience
- Full-time availability with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Participates in employment decisions such as recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and coaching
- Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development including reviews, recognition, training, onboarding, mentoring, succession planning, and coaching for growth
- Partners with Experience Leader and Store Leader on scheduling and delivering on store Profit and Loss (P&L)
- Addresses and administers associate complaints and grievances
- Prioritizes, delegates, and validates daily tasks for associates to meet business and pet parent needs
- Effectively communicates company information and priorities to associates
- Leads and directs associates when acting as Leader on Duty
- Ensures reservations for pet boarding and day camp comply with policies
- Manages check-in process ensuring paperwork accuracy and health information
- Oversees medication administration and health monitoring for pets
- Coordinates in-store events and marketing initiatives
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of pet hotel facility
- Reviews pet parent service surveys and takes action as necessary
- Recommends and sells merchandise and services
- Ensures compliance with company policies and ethics
- Supports safety incident follow-up and monthly safety reporting
- Ensures maintenance of hotel equipment
- Shared responsibility for store opening and closing procedures
- Responsible for pet parent experience and response to concerns
- Observes guest welfare and communicates issues to leadership
- Promotes a culture of empowerment and associate engagement
