Job Requirements
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Pass employment physical to confirm ability to wear a respirator within 1 year from hire date
- Residency in one of the specified counties in the western district
- Some college education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in field conditions
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, entomology, pest management, horticulture, plant pathology or a closely related biological science from an appropriately accredited institution
- Experience in pesticide use in agricultural production, landscaping, or other related areas
- Ability to convey and interpret policies, laws, and regulations
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to compose clear and concise reports
- Basic experience with Microsoft Office
Job Duties
- Conduct inspections at pesticide dealers
- Perform alleged misuse investigations
- Respond to pesticide-related emergencies
- Administer pesticide license examinations
- Conduct marketplace inspections on misbranded products
- Sample pesticide formulations
- Conduct outreach to regulated public
- Inspect pesticide application equipment
