Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship
- fluency in English
- ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process
- possess one of the required certifications AFC, CFP, or ChFC
- may require bilingual ability in English and Spanish
- high school diploma plus 6 years experience or associate degree plus 4 years experience considered
- valid driver license
- compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and work experience
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- certification as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- strong communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively with military leadership and Points of Contact
- familiarity with virtual counseling technologies
- must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English
- bilingual in English and Spanish preferred if required by contract
Job Duties
- Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
- assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
- develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families
- coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of personal financial management classes and workshops
- respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
- effectively utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication
- manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
- communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision
- participate in regular in-services, training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned
- perform all other duties as assigned
