Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to speak fluent English
  • Ability to obtain favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
  • Ability to pass Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
  • Relevant financial counseling certification (AFC, CFP, or ChFC)
  • If required, bilingual in English and Spanish
  • High school diploma plus 6 years' experience or associate degree plus 4 years' experience considered

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience
  • Certifications such as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
  • Ability to speak fluent English
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to utilize electronic communication platforms
  • U.S. citizenship

Job Duties

  • Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
  • Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
  • Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families
  • Coordinate, publicize and provide Personal Financial Management classes and workshops
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate financial education classes or seminars
  • Utilize virtual counseling and other electronic communication methods as authorized
  • Manage duty to warn situations following Department of Defense protocols
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and training sessions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
