Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or associate degree with 4 years' experience or high school diploma with 6 years' experience
- 5+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship
- fluent English speaker
- bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract
- ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- ability to pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process
- possession of AFC, CFP, or ChFC certification
- valid state driver's license
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of financial counseling experience
- certification as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- fluency in English
- ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- compliance with Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency with virtual counseling technologies
Job Duties
- Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
- assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
- develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families
- coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of personal financial management classes and workshops
- responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
- utilizes virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication approved by the customer
- manages duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
- communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision sessions
- participates in in-services, training, and quality improvement activities
- performs all other duties as assigned
