Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or associate degree plus 4 years' experience or high school diploma plus 6 years' experience
  • 5+ years of financial counseling experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
  • Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process
  • Certification as AFC, CFP, or ChFC
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of financial counseling experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Certification as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
  • Ability to pass a Tier 2 background investigation
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
  • Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
  • Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families
  • Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of personal financial management classes and workshops
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
  • Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication effectively
  • Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
