Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience
  • Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Fluent English speaking skills
  • Ability to obtain Tier 2 investigation clearance
  • Must pass Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
  • Certification as Accredited Financial Counselor, Certified Financial Planner, or Chartered Financial Consultant
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish if contract requires

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience
  • Certification as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
  • U.S. citizenship with fluent English proficiency
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
  • Ability to pass Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish if required
  • Skilled in virtual financial counseling and electronic communication

Job Duties

  • Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
  • Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
  • Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families
  • Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
  • Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes effectively
  • Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and quality improvement activities
  • Participate in regular in-services, training, and contract-related activities
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
