Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience
  • U.S. citizenship
  • fluent English speaker
  • hold certification as AFC, CFP or ChFC
  • able to obtain favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
  • able to pass OCI process
  • bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience
  • hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
  • fluency in English
  • ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
  • ability to pass the Organizational Conflicts of Interest process
  • U.S. citizenship
  • bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
  • assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
  • develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families
  • coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of personal financial management classes and workshops
  • responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
  • utilizes virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes effectively
  • manages duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol
  • communicates with leadership and participates in supervision and quality improvement activities
  • performs other duties as assigned
