Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- May consider associate degree plus 4 years' experience or high school diploma plus 6 years' experience
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience required
- Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process
- Must hold one of the following certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC
- Bilingual English-Spanish may be required by contract
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification required
- Ability to speak fluent English
- U.S. citizenship
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in utilizing virtual counseling tools and electronic communications
- Ability to work effectively with military personnel and leadership
Job Duties
- Provide personal financial counseling directly to service members and their families
- Assist military personnel in establishing spending plans for extended absences
- Develop informational financial materials for distribution to service members and families
- Coordinate, publicize, and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate financial classes or seminars
- Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication platforms as authorized
- Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and quality improvement activities
- Participate in ongoing training and contract activities
- Perform all other duties as assigned aligned with the job intent
