Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- May consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
- May consider applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English
- If required by contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Must be able to pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process
- Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience
- Certification as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- U.S. citizenship
- Fluent in English
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Ability to pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process
- Effective virtual counseling and electronic communication skills
- Experience working with military populations preferred
Job Duties
- Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
- Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
- Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families
- Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
- Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication including web-based, secure online chat, or video-based communications
- Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and quality improvement activities
- Participate in training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
