Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience in financial counseling
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
  • Must be able to pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process
  • Certification as AFC, CFP, or ChFC
  • Bilingual English and Spanish if required by contract

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience
  • Certification as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract

Job Duties

  • Provide personal financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families
  • Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences
  • Develop and disseminate informational financial materials for service members and families
  • Coordinate, publicize, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering topics across the military lifecycle
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate financial classes or seminars
  • Utilize virtual counseling platforms and electronic communication tools as authorized
  • Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
  • Communicate regularly with military leadership and participate in supervision and training activities
