Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree required or associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience
3 or more years of financial counseling experience
Must be U.S. citizen and speak fluent English
Bilingual in English and Spanish if required
Must obtain favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
Must pass Congressional Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
Must hold AFC, CFP or ChFC certification

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
3 or more years of financial counseling experience
Certification as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with military service members and leadership
Proficiency in virtual communication technologies
U.S. citizenship
Fluent in English

Job Duties

Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families
Coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops
Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
Possess skills to effectively utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes
Manages duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision sessions
Participates in in-services/training and quality improvement committees
Performs all other duties as assigned
