Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- May consider associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience
- 3+ years financial counseling experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English
- Bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract
- Ability to obtain favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Must pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI)
- Must have AFC, CFP, or ChFC certification
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification
- Fluency in English
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Compliance with Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI)
Job Duties
- Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
- Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families
- Coordinate, publicize, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
- Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication methods
- Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
- Communicate regularly with leadership and participate in supervision and quality improvement activities
