Job Description
Our client is a well-established family located in the prestigious Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California. They seek a dedicated and skilled Personal Chef on a part-time basis to cater to their unique culinary needs. This household is a vegetarian family with three children (ages 18, 15, and 12, with the eldest living away from home) who prioritize healthy, balanced, and flavorful vegetarian meals. Job Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and provide excellent professional references
- Non-smoking and non-vaping household
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry trays or cookware up to 25 lbs, and perform typical kitchen duties safely and efficiently
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience cooking in private homes
- Strong knowledge of vegetarian and globally inspired cuisines
- Indian cooking experience is a plus but not required
- Experience with menu planning, table service, and event support
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, professional demeanor
- Must be local to the San Francisco Bay Area
Job Duties
- Prepare fresh, healthy, vegetarian meals twice per week for the family
- Provide meals for small dinner parties (multi-course, intimate gatherings - not overly formal)
- Cook, serve, and ensure meals are presented beautifully and served hot
- Clean up the kitchen after service, maintaining a spotless and organized workspace
- Set the table and serve meals, plated or family-style depending on the occasion
- Prepare extra portions for lunches the following day
- Create a weekly menu proposal offering several options
- Sneak extra vegetables into meals for the children, who prefer mild flavors
- Coordinate efficiently with household staff and maintain professionalism and discretion at all times
