Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
- Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Food Handlers permit if required by state
- Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to follow community safety and infection control practices
- Must attend and participate in training, in-services and staff meetings
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
- Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
- Completed state required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR and HIV training if no prior documentation
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Food Handlers permit if required by state
- Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
- Strong communication and observational skills
- Commitment to upholding integrity, trust, commitment and respect
Job Duties
- Provides direct resident care while promoting resident dignity, independence and choice
- regularly observes residents' physical and mental conditions and reports changes
- Assists with or performs ADLs, takes vital signs and weights and accurately documents care provided
- Reports and documents incidents and accidents immediately
- Assists residents to and from dining room and activities
- Performs first aid and initiates emergency response procedures
- Greets residents, visitors and staff courteously and answers phones when assigned
- Follows community fire safety and infection control practices
- Reports unsafe conditions or equipment to supervisors
- Serves meals, assists residents at meal time and performs dining room and kitchen cleanup
- Assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, and transfers
- Coordinates personal care service and responds to assistance pages promptly
- Assists with apartment housekeeping services and residents' laundry
- Attends and participates in training, in-services, and staff meetings
- Performs other related duties as assigned
