Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Food Handlers permit if required by state
  • Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Able to complete competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
  • Completion of state required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR and HIV training if no prior documentation
  • Able to observe and report changes in residents' physical and mental conditions
  • Ability to assist with ADLs, take vital signs, and document care accurately
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to respond promptly to assistance pages

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
  • Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
  • Completion of state required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR and HIV training if not previously documented
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Ability to work with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Provide direct resident care while promoting resident dignity, independence and choice
  • Regularly observe residents' physical and mental conditions and report changes to supervisors
  • Assist with or perform ADLs, take vital signs and weights
  • Accurately document care services provided and observations on communication logs and incident reports
  • Assist residents to and from dining room and activities
  • Perform first aid and initiate emergency response procedures
  • Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously and answer phones when assigned
  • Follow and support community fire safety and infection control practices
  • Serve meals in the dining room and assist with dining room and kitchen clean up
  • Assist with tours, move-ins, move-outs, and transfers
  • Coordinate personal care service with co-workers
  • Assist with apartment housekeeping services and residents' laundry
  • Attend and participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
