Job Requirements

must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
must undergo state-required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR and HIV training unless documentation provided
must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
high school diploma or GED preferred
current first aid and CPR certification
food handlers permit if required by state
ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

high school diploma or GED preferred
one or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
competency evaluation completion within 120 days of employment
state-required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR and HIV training if prior certification not provided
ability to perform essential job duties with or without accommodation

Job Duties

provides direct resident care promoting dignity, independence and choice
observes residents' physical and mental conditions and reports changes
assists with activities of daily living, takes vital signs and weights, and documents care services
reports and documents all incidents and accidents immediately
assists residents to and from dining room and activities
performs first aid and initiates emergency procedures
greets residents, visitors and staff
serves meals and assists with dining room and kitchen maintenance
assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, and transfers
assists with apartment housekeeping services and resident laundry
attends training, in-services, and staff meetings
performs other related duties as assigned
