Job Requirements

  • must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
  • must undergo state-required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR and HIV training unless documentation provided
  • must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • current first aid and CPR certification
  • food handlers permit if required by state
  • ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • one or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
  • competency evaluation completion within 120 days of employment
  • state-required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR and HIV training if prior certification not provided
  • ability to perform essential job duties with or without accommodation

Job Duties

  • provides direct resident care promoting dignity, independence and choice
  • observes residents' physical and mental conditions and reports changes
  • assists with activities of daily living, takes vital signs and weights, and documents care services
  • reports and documents all incidents and accidents immediately
  • assists residents to and from dining room and activities
  • performs first aid and initiates emergency procedures
  • greets residents, visitors and staff
  • serves meals and assists with dining room and kitchen maintenance
  • assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, and transfers
  • assists with apartment housekeeping services and resident laundry
  • attends training, in-services, and staff meetings
  • performs other related duties as assigned
