Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- one or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
- must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
- must complete state-required training
- current First Aid and CPR certification
- Food Handlers permit if required by state
- ability to perform essential job duties
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work as part of a team
- strong commitment to resident dignity and respect
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- one or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
- must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
- must complete state-required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR, and HIV training if prior training documentation is not provided
- must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily
- current First Aid and CPR certification
- Food Handlers permit if required by state
- ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Duties
- provides direct resident care while promoting dignity and independence
- observes and reports changes in residents' physical and mental conditions
- assists with activities of daily living
- takes vital signs and weights
- documents care services and observations
- reports and documents incidents and accidents immediately
- assists residents to dining and activities
- performs first aid and initiates emergency response procedures
- greets residents, visitors, and staff courteously
- answers phones when assigned
- follows community fire safety and infection control practices
- reports unsafe conditions or equipment
- serves meals and assists with dining room and kitchen maintenance
- assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, and transfers
- coordinates personal care services with co-workers
- assists with apartment housekeeping services and residents' laundry
- attends training, in-services, and staff meetings
- performs other related duties as assigned
