Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Food Handlers permit if required by State
  • Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
  • Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
  • Must have current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Knowledge of Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR, and HIV training
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Provide direct resident care while promoting dignity, independence and choice
  • Regularly observe residents' physical and mental conditions and report changes
  • Assist with or perform ADLs, take vital signs and weights, accurately document care services and observations
  • Report and document all incidents and accidents immediately
  • Assist residents to and from dining room and activities
  • Perform First Aid and initiate emergency response procedures
  • Greet residents, visitors and staff courteously and answer phones when assigned
  • Follow and support fire safety and infection control practices
  • Serve meals, assist residents at meal time, provide resident tray delivery, and assist with dining room and kitchen clean up
  • Assist with tours, move-ins, move-outs, and transfers and coordinate personal care service with co-workers
  • Assist with apartment housekeeping services and resident laundry
  • Attend and participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
