Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience in a human service or health care setting preferred
  • Must complete the SJU CNA Course within 6 months from hire date
  • Must obtain certification within 120 days of class completion
  • Knowledge of elder care training and certification as nursing assistant
  • Complete Abuse Training and Serve Safe training
  • Skills in writing, verbal communication, observation, and organization
  • Ability to perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to respond timely and professionally to elders' needs
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience in human services or healthcare preferred
  • Completion of CNA course within 6 months of hire and certification within 120 days
  • Certified nursing assistant required
  • Completion of Abuse Training
  • Completion of Serve Safe training
  • Basic nutritional knowledge related to resident menu planning
  • Understanding of housekeeping, infection control, and light maintenance
  • Good writing, verbal, and observation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities

Job Duties

  • Provide daily hygiene care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist with clothes purchase, laundry, and repairs
  • Take and record vital signs and observe changes in resident well-being
  • Clean and maintain the elder's environment and perform minor household maintenance
  • Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals according to dietary needs
  • Communicate and collaborate with healthcare staff and families
  • Promote and support meaningful activities and participation by elders
