Job Requirements
- Do not perform any personal care service that requires the skills of a certified nursing assistant
- notify your Services Consultant or Director of changes in your client's condition
- comply with applicable regulations including providing accurate documentation of services
- protect the client's health care information and report potential fraud and abuse
- consistently use proper body mechanics and infection control techniques
- remain familiar with and respect the Agency Patients' Bill of Rights and Responsibilities
- inform Agency of your availability and desire for work assignments and honor your commitments
- participate in staff meetings/in-services as assigned
- remain familiar with Agency organizational structure and channels of communication
- comply with Agency Employee Policies and Procedures including timely submission of timesheets
- function positively as a member of the care and services team and Agency employee
- seek supervisory guidance as needed
- participate in continuing education programs as requested
- understand that patients are clients of the Agency and providing services outside of Agency direction is prohibited
- communicate to management areas for improvement
- perform other duties as assigned
- disclose allergies or special needs to Agency
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience as a personal care assistant or homemaker preferred
- completion of PCP/HM training
- knowledge of basic first aid and infection control
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to follow instructions and document services accurately
- ability to work as part of a care team
- proficiency in using household appliances safely
Job Duties
- Function within your knowledge and experience, practicing safely and competently within PCP/HM training and experience
- demonstrate appropriate interpersonal communication with client, caregiver, and employees
- perform and demonstrate competency with personal care assignments and tasks for which you have had training and experience and as assigned by the Services Consultant
- provide basic first aid
- apply infection control measures
- practice proper body mechanics
- maintain environmental cleanliness and safety
- prepare meals
- properly care for and use appliances and equipment
- follow established assignment
- accurately document services rendered
