Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- no prior experience required
- AHA Heartsaver AED certification must be obtained before end of orientation
- ability to understand English
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds
- mental, behavioral and emotional stability to work in a healthcare environment
- availability to work 8-hour shifts scheduled 11am-7:30pm weekdays and 3pm-11:30pm every other weekend including holidays
Job Qualifications

- ability to understand and respond to English instructions
- good physical stamina and dexterity
- ability to operate cleaning machinery
- attention to detail in cleanliness and infection control
- strong communication skills
- willingness to work scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends
Job Duties
- Perform between-case cleaning of operating rooms in compliance with policy
- execute terminal cleaning of operating rooms on a scheduled basis
- maintain cleanliness of environment by emptying trash, cleaning spills, and removing soiled linen continuously
- strip, wax, and buff floors regularly
- assist nursing staff by procuring and returning surgical equipment
- move OR beds, ICU beds, and specialty beds as needed
- restock designated supply areas daily, including linen and fluid warmers
- perform routine maintenance and operate housekeeping equipment such as wet vacuums and floor scrubbers
- safely transport patients to and from the operating room
- run errands including obtaining and delivering specimens, blood products, and X-rays
- obtain additional supplies and equipment for nursing staff as requested
