Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • No prior experience required
  • AHA Heartsaver AED certification or must obtain during orientation
  • Ability to understand and respond appropriately to English instructions
  • Physical ability to perform standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, pushing, pulling, bending, and other physical demands
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment physical and onboarding process
  • Must comply with annual flu vaccine requirement unless exempted

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and respond to instructions in English
  • AHA Heartsaver AED certification or willingness to obtain during orientation
  • Basic physical stamina to perform standing, walking, lifting, and other movement-related duties
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a healthcare team
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to comply with annual health requirements such as flu vaccine

Job Duties

  • Perform between-case cleaning of operating rooms in accordance with policy
  • Perform terminal cleaning of operating rooms on a scheduled basis
  • Maintain overall operating suite environment including trash removal and spill cleaning
  • Strip, wax, and buff floors regularly
  • Assist nursing staff by procuring and returning surgical equipment
  • Move operating room, ICU, and specialty beds as needed
  • Restock designated supply areas daily including linen and fluid warmers
  • Perform routine maintenance on housekeeping equipment
  • Operate machinery such as wet vacuums and automatic floor scrubbers
  • Safely transport patients to and from the operating room
  • Perform errands including obtaining and delivering specimens, blood products, and X-rays
  • Obtain additional supplies and equipment as requested by nursing staff
