Job Requirements

  • Equivalent to high school graduation
  • Three to five years of culinary experience
  • Must possess a valid Clark County Health Department Food Handler Safety Training card
  • Recent documented cooking experience within the last three years preferred
  • Three years of high volume industrial culinary experience preferred
  • Preferred experience in a healthcare setting
  • Preferred experience with modified diets

Job Duties

  • Prepare meal entrees and food for special functions
  • Prepare cafeteria and patient menus
  • Create and maintain checklists for food handlers
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Monitor and assign work activities in the kitchen
  • Maintain proper sanitation in food handling
  • Use kitchen equipment such as ovens, meat slicers, and mixers efficiently and safely
