Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years general manager experience for external candidates
  • 6 months Pei Wei Sr/Assistant Manager experience for internal candidates
  • Certification in Pei Wei Culinary and Front-of-the-House Operations
  • Ability to stand and walk for eight to ten hours per shift
  • Capability to reach, bend, balance, and transport objects up to 30 lbs during a shift
  • Knowledge of state and federal safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in conflict resolution
  • Capability to manage scheduling and labor costs effectively
  • Ability to handle administrative duties including payroll and cash handling

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • External candidates must have 2 years General Manager experience
  • Internal candidates must have 6 months Pei Wei Sr./Assistant Manager position
  • Certified in Pei Wei Culinary and Front-of-the-House Operations
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Proficient in managing food and labor costs
  • Knowledgeable in safety and sanitation standards
  • Excellent conflict management and communication skills
  • Ability to create and manage effective work schedules
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, and training staff
  • Proven ability to drive sales and profitability
  • Ability to conduct performance appraisals and coaching
  • Familiarity with administrative tasks such as payroll and invoicing

Job Duties

  • Ensures operational excellence of his/her designated restaurant
  • Takes ownership of guest relations and customer satisfaction outcomes of his/her designated restaurant
  • Implements, cascades, and sustains company initiatives and goals
  • Increases sales and operating profit and sets short/long term plans to help meet those goals through local marketing and other internal opportunities
  • Certified in Pei Wei Culinary and Front-of-the-House Operations and can perform duties daily
  • Fosters a safe, respectful, and quality employee experience
  • Supervises, assigns, and delegates task(s) appropriately to management and hourly team members
  • Recruits, hires, and trains a full team following internal training specifications for each job position
  • Provides on-going leadership and development to immediate management staff which may include but is not limited to: P/L statement accountabilities
  • Food and Labor Costs
  • Safety and Sanitation
  • Acts as a goodwill ambassador to the community of Pei Wei
  • Uses performance management tools and processes to ensure all employee performance appraisals are completed, with appropriate coaching, correction and feedback being delivered
  • Ensures that all state and federal safety and sanitation guidelines are being followed
  • Ensures regular repairs and maintenance of the restaurant in a timely manner
  • Handles the administrative tasks in daily operations which may include but is not limited to hiring and terminating processes, invoicing, payroll, and cash handling
  • Performs regular line checks to maintain all product quality standards
  • Makes sure that all prep lists and order guides are complete
  • Takes responsibility for all cost and food inventories
  • Obtains appropriate safe food handlers permit within 6 months (or sooner if local regulations dictate) and always keeps permit current
