Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years General Manager experience for external candidates
  • Minimum 6 months as Pei Wei senior or assistant manager for internal candidates
  • Certification in Pei Wei culinary and front-of-the-house operations
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per shift
  • Capability to lift and transport objects up to 30 lbs
  • Knowledge of state and federal safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Effective conflict management skills
  • Strong sales building and leadership competencies
  • Scheduling and staffing expertise
  • Food safety permit obtained within 6 months
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • External candidates need 2 years of General Manager experience
  • Internal candidates need 6 months experience as Pei Wei senior or assistant manager
  • Certified in Pei Wei culinary and front-of-the-house operations
  • Proven ability to manage P/L statements and control food and labor costs
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build sales culture and resolve conflicts effectively
  • Experience in hiring, training, and developing teams
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations and compliance
  • Capability to manage scheduling for labor cost control and guest satisfaction
  • Excellent emotional intelligence and adaptability to change
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure operational excellence of his/her designated restaurant
  • Take ownership of guest relations and customer satisfaction outcomes
  • Implement, cascade, and sustain company initiatives and goals
  • Increase sales and operating profit through local marketing and internal opportunities
  • Be certified in Pei Wei culinary and front-of-the-house operations and perform duties daily
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and quality employee experience
  • Supervise, assign, and delegate tasks appropriately to management and hourly team members
  • Recruit, hire, and train a full team following internal training specifications
  • Provide ongoing leadership and development to immediate management staff including P/L statement accountabilities
  • Act as a goodwill ambassador to the community
  • Use performance management tools to ensure timely employee appraisals with coaching and feedback
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Oversee timely repairs and maintenance of the restaurant
  • Handle administrative tasks including hiring and terminating, invoicing, payroll, and cash handling
  • Perform regular line checks to maintain product quality standards
  • Ensure completion of prep lists and order guides
  • Manage all cost and food inventories
  • Obtain and maintain a safe food handlers permit within 6 months or as required by local regulations
