Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years general manager experience for external candidates
  • 6 months Pei Wei Senior/Assistant Manager experience for internal candidates
  • Certified in Pei Wei Culinary and Front-of-the-House Operations
  • Ability to work standing and walking 8-10 hours per shift
  • Ability to reach, bend, balance and transport objects up to 30 lbs
  • Must obtain and maintain safe food handlers permit within 6 months or sooner if required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certified in Pei Wei Culinary and Front-of-the-House Operations
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar role for at least 2 years for external candidates
  • Internal candidates require 6 months experience as Pei Wei Senior/Assistant Manager
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent conflict resolution and communication abilities
  • Demonstrated capability in driving sales and profitability
  • Ability to manage P/L statements and food and labor costs
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation guidelines compliance
  • Effective recruitment, hiring, and training experience
  • Ability to perform scheduling effectively
  • Strong emotional intelligence and adaptability
  • Proficient in administrative tasks including payroll and invoicing

Job Duties

  • Ensures operational excellence of his/her designated restaurant
  • Takes ownership of guest relations and customer satisfaction outcomes of his/her designated restaurant
  • Implements, cascades, and sustains company initiatives and goals
  • Increases sales and operating profit and sets short/long term plans to help meet those goals through local marketing and other internal opportunities
  • Certified in Pei Wei Culinary and Front-of-the-House Operations and can perform duties daily
  • Fosters a safe, respectful, and quality employee experience
  • Supervises, assigns, and delegates task(s) appropriately to management and hourly team members
  • Recruits, hires, and trains a full team following internal training specifications for each job position
  • Provides on-going leadership and development to immediate management staff including P/L statement accountabilities, food and labor costs, safety and sanitation
  • Acts as a goodwill ambassador to the community of Pei Wei
  • Uses performance management tools and processes to ensure all employee performance appraisals are completed with appropriate coaching, correction and feedback
  • Ensures all state and federal safety and sanitation guidelines are followed
  • Ensures regular repairs and maintenance of the restaurant in a timely manner
  • Handles administrative tasks such as hiring, terminating, invoicing, payroll, and cash handling
  • Performs regular line checks to maintain product quality standards
  • Makes sure all prep lists and order guides are complete
  • Takes responsibility for all cost and food inventories
  • Obtains and keeps safe food handlers permit current according to regulations
