Job Requirements

  • Two years management experience for external candidates
  • one year Pei Wei Manager experience or six months Pei Wei Manager experience and one year previous restaurant management experience
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • ability to handle guest service issues professionally and with composure
  • ability to foster a safe, respectful and quality employee experience
  • knowledge of state safety and sanitation guidelines
  • capability to supervise training and execution of menu items and procedures
  • skill in performing product quality checks and inventory management
  • ability to support business goals including food costs, labor, and team member retention
  • competency in assigning and delegating tasks
  • proficiency in recruiting, hiring, and training staff
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • physical ability to reach, bend, balance, transport objects up to 30 lbs, and stand or walk for eight to ten hours each shift

Job Qualifications

  • one year Pei Wei Manager experience for internal candidates or six months Pei Wei Manager experience combined with one year previous restaurant management experience
  • high school diploma or GED preferred

  • ability to make timely decisions balancing urgency with long-term execution
  • excellent judgment
  • ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
  • capacity to leverage previous experiences to solve new problems
  • experience reviewing successes and failures to drive improvement
  • completion of front-of-house and back-of-house certification
  • competence in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • ability to train team members in all positions
  • understanding of how front-of-house and back-of-house impact guest experience
  • experience in coaching team members with constructive feedback
  • skills to model desired behaviors to support coaching
  • providing ongoing feedback to improve team performance

Job Duties

  • Handle guest service issues professionally and with composure
  • foster a safe, respectful and quality employee experience
  • partner with the General Manager to identify and address opportunities to increase business results using profit and loss statements
  • execute all state safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ensure proper timing and production of all food orders
  • supervise and facilitate training of food preparation and execution of all menu items, procedures, and recipes
  • maintain all product quality standards by performing regular line checks
  • complete prep lists, order guides, and all cost and food inventories
  • support business goals including food costs, labor, and team member retention
  • supervise, assign, and delegate tasks and give direction to all staff and management
  • assist the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, and training
  • act as a goodwill ambassador to the Pei Wei community
  • oversee regular repairs and maintenance of the restaurant
  • assist the General Manager in developing other managers and Shift Leaders
  • proficiently place all orders for the restaurant including Coke, DSI, Ed, etc.
  • partner with the General Manager to forecast sales and develop schedules with proper staffing levels
