Job Requirements

  • External candidates must have 2 years management experience
  • Internal candidates require 1 year Pei Wei manager experience or 6 months Pei Wei manager experience plus 1 year prior restaurant management experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to handle guest service issues professionally
  • Must foster a safe and respectful work environment
  • Must follow and execute all state safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to supervise and facilitate training
  • Must complete prep lists and manage inventories
  • Skilled in task delegation and staff supervision
  • Competent in placing all restaurant orders
  • Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport objects up to 30 lbs
  • Must stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per shift
  • Must apply fact-based decision making
  • Ability to adapt to unfamiliar tasks quickly
  • Completion of FOH and BOH certification
  • Must provide effective coaching to improve team performance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 years management experience for external candidates
  • 1 year Pei Wei Manager experience or 6 months Pei Wei Manager experience combined with 1 year previous restaurant management experience for internal candidates
  • Strong decision-making skills applying data and experience to support facts
  • Ability to make timely decisions balancing urgency and long-term execution
  • Demonstrates good judgement
  • Ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts
  • Skilled in leveraging previous experiences to solve problems
  • Experience reviewing successes and failures to drive future improvements
  • Completion of FOH and BOH certification
  • Competency in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • Knowledge to train team members in all positions
  • Recognition of impact of FOH and BOH on guest experience
  • Experience providing constructive coaching and building team confidence
  • Ability to model desired behaviors and provide ongoing feedback

Job Duties

  • Handles guest service issues professionally and with composure
  • Fosters a safe, respectful and quality employee experience
  • Partners with the GM to identify and address opportunities to increase business results using the P&L
  • Accountable for following and executing all state safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Consistently ensures proper timing and production of all food orders
  • Supervises and facilitates training of food preparation and execution of all menu items, procedures, and recipes
  • Is responsible for maintaining all product quality standards by performing regular line checks
  • Thoroughly completes all prep lists, order guides, and all cost and food inventories
  • Supports the goals of the business including food costs, labor, and team member retention
  • Supervises, assigns, and delegates tasks and gives direction to all staff and other members of management
  • Is responsible for assisting the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, training
  • Acts as a goodwill ambassador to the community of Pei Wei
  • Is responsible for regular repairs and maintenance of the restaurant
  • Is responsible for assisting the General Manager in the development of other managers and Shift Leaders
  • Is proficient and knowledgeable in placing all orders for the restaurant including Coke, DSI, Ed, etc.
  • Partners with the GM to properly forecast sales and develop schedules with the proper staffing levels to accommodate business while achieving labor goals
