Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • two years management experience for external candidates
  • one year Pei Wei manager experience or six months Pei Wei manager experience with one year previous restaurant management experience for internal candidates
  • ability to handle guest service issues professionally and calmly
  • capable of fostering a respectful and safe work environment
  • skillful in food quality control and sanitation compliance
  • proficient in staff management and delegation
  • experience in training and coaching employees
  • knowledge of scheduling and labor cost management
  • physically able to reach, bend, balance, and transport objects up to 30 lbs
  • able to stand and walk for eight to ten hours per shift
  • decision-making skills that balance urgency with good judgment
  • ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
  • capable of coaching and improving team performance
  • completion of front-of-house and back-of-house certifications
  • understanding of FOH and BOH impact on guest experience

Job Qualifications

  • Two years management experience for external candidates

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to manage both front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • experience training and developing team members
  • proficiency in managing inventory and ordering
  • excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • good judgment and capable of balancing operational urgency with long-term goals

Job Duties

  • Handle guest service issues professionally and with composure
  • foster a safe, respectful and quality employee experience
  • partner with the General Manager to identify and address opportunities to increase business results using profit and loss statements
  • comply with and execute all state safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ensure proper timing and production of all food orders
  • supervise and facilitate training of food preparation and execution of all menu items, procedures, and recipes
  • maintain all product quality standards by performing regular line checks
  • complete all prep lists, order guides, and manage cost and food inventories
  • support business goals including food costs, labor, and team member retention
  • supervise, assign and delegate tasks and provide direction to staff and other management members
  • assist the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, and training employees
  • act as a goodwill ambassador to the community on behalf of Pei Wei
  • manage regular repairs and maintenance of the restaurant
  • assist in the development of other managers and shift leaders
  • place all orders for the restaurant including beverages and supplies
  • partner with the General Manager to forecast sales and develop schedules to properly staff the restaurant while achieving labor goals
