Job Requirements

  • Active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Texas
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Minimum of one year of supervised clinical experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
  • Compliance with agency documentation and scheduling policies
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule

Job Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE) as a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) in the state of Texas
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Minimum of one year of supervised clinical experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Participate in the development and periodic revision of the plan of care
  • Schedule, plan activities and provide rehabilitative services for occupational therapy
  • Maintain adequate records on all patients, including summary reports, following agency documentation timelines
  • Utilize community resources and Agency personnel for proper referral
  • Select and administer diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and materials
  • Instruct and counsel other health team personnel and family members in methods of assisting patient in improving, correcting, and accepting disabilities
  • Supervise the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) according to guidelines
  • Attend monthly case conference meetings and additional meetings as requested
  • Participate in staff development activities and in-service education as requested
  • Confirm schedule at least one week prior to the upcoming visits and adjust schedule as changes occur
  • Communicate and correspond with office staff in a timely manner
  • Notify Agency of absences due to illness, emergency leave, vacations, or professional meetings affecting service agreements
  • Participate with staff, patient, and physician in discharge planning activities and complete occupational therapy discharge summary within agency policies
