Job Requirements

  • Paramedic licensure with 3 years of experience
  • CPR for the health care provider certification

Job Qualifications

  • Must possess paramedic licensure with at least 3 years of experience
  • certified in CPR for the health care provider
  • completed advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
  • completed pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification
  • knowledge of Oklahoma street systems and rescue equipment
  • ability to perform accurate technical medical skills
  • able to manage emotional and medical needs of patients
  • capable of learning new rescue and medical techniques
  • skilled in mechanical maintenance of medical equipment
  • able to direct and teach other personnel
  • good communication and report writing skills
  • ability to maintain professionalism and effective working relationships
  • capable of driving and operating large critical care ambulances
  • committed to continuing education in paramedicine and pediatric/neonatal care

Job Duties

  • Provides advanced life support including medical evaluation treatment and stabilization of critically ill and injured
  • responds to emergency rescue situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury
  • maintains control manages and directs patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency
  • provides training and instruction to lesser trained personnel
  • performs critical physical examinations
  • recognizes common cardiac dysrhythmias and understands treatment modalities for life threatening dysrhythmias
  • anticipates pharmacological treatment of critically ill and injured patients
  • institutes appropriate emergency therapy for non-cardiac emergencies
  • manages medical and emotional needs of victims
  • manages and directs first responders at emergency scenes such as EMRs police and EMTs
  • files standardized reports for receiving hospitals and administration
  • maintains effective communication with hospital physicians for patient care
  • transports ill and injured to medical care institutions
  • operates emergency vehicles safely
  • completes patient statistics and medical information forms
  • performs technical rescues and follows company procedures
  • cleans and maintains equipment
